LiteWing first flight — realization runbook

Companion to the LiteWing flight guide (the why). This is the do list.

Phase 0 — Procure (before the drone is flyable at all)

• 1S 3.7 V LiPo, ≥20C — buy the 650 mAh 30C class to skip the brownout failure mode; match the connector per the wiki battery guide
• 1S USB LiPo charger (4.2 V)
• Install the official LiteWing app (Android/iOS — link from https://circuitdigest.com/wiki/litewing/)
• Optional but smart: spare prop set

Phase 1 — Bench acceptance (no flying)

• Props on marked positions (2 CW + 2 CCW per PCB silkscreen)
• Battery charged, strapped, connector seated
• Power on, on a flat surface → SYS LED calibration completes
• Phone joins drone hotspot; mobile data OFF, VPN OFF, WiFi auto-switch OFF
• App shows link + sane battery voltage
• 1-second 10% throttle blip: 4 props spin, no rattle

Gate: all boxes checked → cleared for Phase 2. Any miss → wiki troubleshooting table.

Phase 2 — First-flight session (≥3×3 m cleared indoor space)

• 5× hop test (20 cm up, land)
• 10 s knee-height hover
• Box drill (1 m fwd/back/left/right, one axis at a time)
• Deliberate landing on a target ~50 cm circle
• Land at first low-voltage warning (app or error LED)

Done = repeatable hover + intentional landing. Log session notes below.

Phase 3 — Growth (separate sessions)

• Yaw drills (90° turns from hover)
• cflib "hello flight" from PC (pip install cflib, join drone WiFi)
• Decide on positioning module (ToF + optical flow → height/position hold)
